Alzheimer’s and Dementia
These are two words that nobody wants to hear in relation to anybody they love or themselves. It is a frightening & overwhelming diagnosis to hear. Sadly, AD is still a very misunderstood disease that people are desperately trying to understand in many ways - why it happens, what causes it and how can we help ourselves & others from getting it?
As always there’s are no concrete solutions to all these questions but what we do know is that there are some things that seem to help with keeping AD at bay or even slowing the progression down. To keep this short & sweet I am going to put a few things down in bullet form that we could try to incorporate in our lives or pass on to others who may need it. So on this World Alzheimer’s day, take a proactive stand to keep this disease at bay!
🌸 Make sure you have good fats in your diet at all times! Our brains need fats!! - coconut oil, avocado oil, flaxseed oil, olive oil, avocados, omega 3, ghee, pumpkin, sunflower, sesame seed butters or pastes.
🌸 play memory games, learn something new, read books, dance!
🌸Herbs - add as many herbs into your diet through foods or teas like Rosemary, Sage, Thyme, Turmeric & Black Pepper, Gingko Biloba and Gota Kola!
🌸 Dab a drop of neat Frankincense essential oil onto the base of your neck & temples to boost the oxygen levels in your brain.
🌸Use the EO of Rosemary, Peppermint, Frankincense, Orange, Lemon and Sage and diffuse in your house or have a bath with the oils!
🌸Change your deodorant to a natural Aluminium free deodorant!
As always, take care & lots of love, Juliet 💕
