Breast Feeding

Welcome to Breastfeeding week!

We all agree!! There is something so beautiful about seeing a breastfeeding Mother and her baby! HOWEVER for some it can be a struggle😔.....but😀 as always there are many things one can do to help support mothers and babies through this time!!

Here are some quick and easy steps and tips to help those who struggle a bit with this beautiful yet, for some, trying time!!

Natural ways to increase breast milk - Choose ONE of the following essential oils - Fennel, Geranium, Jasmine or Clary Sage. In two Tablespoons of a base oil (Almond, Sunflower, Olive Oil) add 10 drops of any of the above oils ( with Jasmine add only 5drops). Use a small amount of this mix and massage the breasts in a circular movement, starting under the arms, working inwards then down words and then pressing in between the breast in the cleavage. This helps encourage milk production. Just remember to wash the oils off before your next few! (Store the rest of the oil in a jar with a top. Use it 2-3 times a day.)
Sip a Fennel Tea with some honey! This helps increase milk production and at the same time helps baby if they suffer from colic!
For engorged, sore breasts and mastitis - find a cabbage leaf, iron it then place it on your breasts under your bra, leave it in for as long as you can!
For cracked nipples - get some aloe vera gel 1 Tablespoon add 1 teaspoon Calendula oil, mix together and then add 1 drop of Benzoin oil, 1 drop Lavender oil and 1 drop Rose Oil. After you have fed your baby wipe the nipple, put the Aloe mixture on the nipple and let it dry on by exposing your nipple to the air for a few minutes. Don’t wipe it off until you next have to feed. Before you feed wipe nipple gently with a warm cloth. Re-apply the gel after each feed. (We have this product in our store! “Sore Nipple Gel”: )

NEVER feel guilty if you find it too hard to breastfeed! It is not for everyone one🤷🏻‍♀️. Yes it’s wonderful for you and your baby if you can, but having a happy non- stressed Mama is also super important for your baby!! If you decide to stop and are feeling guilty a) don’t! b) take the flower essence of Pine - two drops into water 4 x a day!!

NEVER let anyone tell you that because your breasts are small you can’t breastfeed!! ( I can’t tell you the amount of times people have been told this🤦🏻‍♀️ It is just NOT true!!) the smallest of breasts can produce more than adequate amounts of milk!

And final words😊Wether you are breastfeeding or not, enjoy every moment with your beautiful new child, times passes VERY quickly!!😄Lots of love, health and confidence, Juliet💕💕
